Shirley Clarke was one of the key innovators of non-fiction cinema and there’s currently a documentary about her in production, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Immy Humes. I recently had the privilege of working with Immy on the project at The Doc Tank in NYC (thank you Canada Council for the Arts). I can’t wait to see this film come together!
The exhibition Leonard Cohen: A Crack in Everything, including The Offerings, (Danish version!) is on now at the Kunstforeningen GL Strand and Nikolaj Kunsthal, until April 13, 2020.
The Delian Mode was made in 2009 and, delightfully, it’s still being shown- a testament to the charisma and creativity of the woman it’s about, Delia Derbyshire. Two special screenings at Centre Pompidou, Paris, Nov. 22 and Dec. 1st thanks to the Créteil International Women’s Film Festival.
Lasciare Suonare, a 35-channel installation at Montreal’s Place des Arts, launches tonight and will be on view for the next few months!

Excited to be working on a new project about the inspiring Montreal Women’s Symphony Orchestra founded in 1940 by a tour-de-force named Ethel Stark. The project is commissioned by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and Place des arts which will take the shape of a 35 (!) channel installation tailored to the Espace Georges-Émile-Lapalme. Coming Fall 2019.

Montreal’s MUTEK festival has programmed a wonderful lineup of presentations about creation, process and artistic practice. Philtre Films presents ‘Delia’s Dream’ about the life and work of electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire, including musical samples, rare archives and extracts from the documentary The Delian Mode.
